This year he only wanted his close friends at his party. And he chose a SPIDERMAN themed party. So of course I thought how can I make this fun for both boys and girls?

Kyson remembered this and wanted to go and see Christ's statue again. He took us right to it. Then he sat and listened to the Missionaries tell the story. After that he took us to watch Luke 2. Kurtis and I were taken back by his reverance and love to be at the Temple. He asks to go back everyday.

These two really love eachother

Kenna gets so excited everytime she sees her brother. Kyson is loving that he has a little buddy to play with. She will chase after balls with him. She will play cars with him. I can only imagine the fun they will have once she is walking.

I love that you can see how much he loves her when he looks at her.

She is cruising all over the house! But shows no interest in walking... :0)

Kyson is starting to make this silly smile everytime...lol I don't know why but it cracks me up.

If you know anything about this little boy its that he doesn't like to get messy. Ever since he was a baby he hated getting his hands dirty. Still to this day if he doesn't use his fork for whatever reason he has to run to the bathroom to wash his hands during the meal. We don't understand why he does that other than he wants to prolong the eating process. Anyways after a few days of straight rain the back yard was muddy and we hadn't really gotten out of the house. As I was busy feeding Kenna my little boy asked to go and play in the mud. I being OCD and not liking to have to clean the mess up didn't want to say yes but I did. A while ago I told myself that I would say yes to him more often and well I did. So outside he went....

True to himself he didn't get very messy and he didn't last outside for very long. Maybe ten minutes. Maybe its because he doesn't like playing by himself all that much but I had no place to put Kenna. He got his shoes muddy and his hands. My sweet little boy sure tried to get messy. :0)

TRICK OR TREAT!!

It was so fun going Trick or Treating this year. We went three times! haha Two Trunk or Treats and of course Halloween. Kyson hit up four streets and by that time his bag was so heavy he said he was ready to go home. Kenna loved sitting in the stroller. Even though she hated the tulle. It was to itchy for her. She was a cute witch and kept her hat on most of the time. Can't wait for next year!!

Kurtis took me to the Melting Pot. YUM! My favorite place. My man knows what I like. In the spirit of turning 26 and now closer to 30 than 20 I decided to try something..eating a strawberry. I haven't had one since I was 14?..I got so sick that night I blamed the strawberry. Well I guess thats not what it was because I didn't get sick that night..all in all it was a good strawberry. I just hate the seeds and I loved the chocolate!! ha ha

Kurtis also tried something new..tying a knot in a cherry stem while only using his tounge. he he he...He did it too!! See!!

This little boy has stolen my heart. He is sweet and kind. So thoughful and full of life. Always giving me hugs and kisses, and telling me that he loves me. Out of the blue he will say, "Hey Mom guess what? I love you!" We have a saying, "I love you to the moon and back, to infinity and beyond, forever and ever." He will say or do anything to get me and Kurtis to stay in bed with him just a little longer at night. And some nights how could I resist such a cute face? He reminds me everyday to not be so serious all the time. That I don't have to have my house clean and spotless everyday. With him he helps me to bring back fun and laughter. I love you Ky and am so happy that you are all mine. Well.....Ours. :0) Daddy sure loves you too!

She is sitting up all by herself!! She can go from any position and sit up by herself. She is such a strong little girl. She has been sitting up for weeks but to put herself in the position she has been doing that now for maybe six weeks. Next up...Crawling.

Nope not for our yard..but for a science project. Kyson came home today from preschool with his very own cup of grass. His dad says that they are going to plant it in our backyard because well we need grass and hopefully this winter we will have some. Kyson sure loves school. He was bummed out on Tuesday when he couldn't go because the stomach flu was going around. I didn't want to take any chances of him bringing home that bug. NO WAY!! He is learning..slowly. But more, he just likes to go and be with his friends. Everytime I drop him off and he sees one of his little buddies walking up to the door he will yell, "HEY LOGAN!!" or whom ever it might be. He is a social butterfly I can only imagine what he is like in class. :0)

Baby Girl at Seven Months

If she doesn't look happy she is either studying you, or thinking.

She is already so onservant and thoughtful of whats going on around her.

She is quite mobile..crawling. But she gets up on all fours and rocks. Today even was the first time I caught her going from belly to the sitting postion. Time to lower that crib because soon she will be pulling herself up.

She is seven months old and has two teeth! I would have liked for those two suckers to stay hidden for another 5 months but what are you gonna do.

She makes my heart melt. Still refusing to eat more than what I give her..but she will mouth and play with cherrios and star puffs. But heck no to solids. No thank you. I really need to get a picture of the face she makes. Its hilarious.

Father's and Son's

The boys had their first Father's and Son's Campout. I can't tell you how excited Kyson was. He kept telling me, "No mommys are coming, right?!" He was so excited to spend some time alone with his dad. These two are major buddies.

I was told this little boy ate 3 hot dogs! Buns and all!! That is a record. They had Kyson and Kurtis' favorites....M&Ms, Smores, sour candies, poptarts.

He had fun my little character and he was grumpy when they got home..he didn't want to come back. He asks me everyday when him and his dad are going to go back to the camp site.

I’m a Season 6 Contestant for the Win, Lose or Blog Contest!!I can not believe it! I am so excited to lose more weight. I just bought ascale the other day because I have to send in pictures of my weight every Sundayto weigh in. Now I was disappointed to find out that my scale has me weighing 3more pounds than my Wii Fit scale. SUCH a bummer but I will go off this weightfrom now on. Hey that still means I’ve lost 8 pounds in almost 6 weeks. I willtake that! In my family it was tradition to take pictures in the front yard or by the front door before you went to your first day of school that year. I plan to do that with my kiddos. Kyson loves going to preschool. He is making so many great friends. Its more of an adjustment for me to have him gone so much but he loves it. He looks forward to it and makes me think that the two days a week was more for me than him. Ha ha. He will definately be ready for Kindergarten when the time comes.

Introducing Miss Kenna Rose Shepherd.

Born: February 22nd

Time: 12:20am

Weight: 7lbs 3 ounces

Length: 19 1/2 inches

Lets start on Sunday night. I started to feel sick. By Monday morning I thought I had what Kyson had had the week before..pretty much the flu. I had a fever and was feeling like I might throw up. Eventually I did throw up and then I started getting dehydrated. The nurses at my OB's office didn't seem alarmed they just told me to take this and take that. Well by 5:30pm I was feeling worse and Kurtis said to call the on call doctor so I did. They called me back and after many questions told me to go down to the hospital. So I had to call Kurtis and tell him to get home because he was out visiting his new nephew with Kyson.
My dad got to the house faster so he took me to the hospital while my mom waited for Kurtis to take Kyson for us. By then I was having what I now know to be back labor. We got to the hostpital and checked in. They checked me and I was dilated to a 1. I was very surprised. I was 37 weeks pregnant! But I was having contractions. I wasn't having ones around my belly though they felt like cramps. But boy were they getting closer together and more painful. At one point I was holding Kurtis hand and squeezing it so hard he had to tell me to stop because his wedding ring was killing his fingers. lol Anyways, they hooked me up to some fluids because I was very dehydrated and had a slight fever. Two hours later they checked and and said I was at a 3. What did you just say? So she goes away for a bit and when the nurse comes back she says, "You are in active labor. Would you like to try a VBAC or do a Repeat C- Section and have you baby out in 45mins."Ok...wait a second what did you just say? So after some talking amongst ourselves and then to my wonderful OB Dr. Grayson Guzman..we opted for the repeat.

I started to get REALLY NERVOUS!! The anesthesiologist was amazing. Talking to me and making me feel really comfortable. Once my spinal was in I was just trying to think of anything else. Kurtis still wasn't in the room because another woman was having a hard time delivering and they postponed my surgery for a few minutes which made him nervous because he was in the next room not knowing what was going on..just seeing nurse after nurse go in and out of the room I was in. So after some time Kenna was born. The dr told me she was out but she wasn't crying which freaked me out. She finally made those first cries and I started to cry. Kurtis went and held her and brought her to me for a quick kiss then all of a sudden he and her and the nurses were gone. She had turned blue and they ran her off. Apparently her oxygen levels were really low and she was having a hard time breathing. They watched her for the next 9 hours and then finally we were able to have her in our room. She is absolutely perfect in every way and looks SO much like her brother. I had to put a bow on her in the hospital to keep from calling her a boy. Here are only a few pictures from our hospital stay.

We were all sick..but we still decorated the house! I love this time of year! Christmas is the time for Family, Friends and Our Savior.

Mom got creative and made up a christmas craft for Kyson to put together all on his own. I was feeling horrible so we couldn't leave the house. Little did I know that poor Ky would be getting sick days later, as well as Kurtis. We didn't leave the house for quite sometime.

He sure enjoyed himself. He is such a big boy. Loves doing things all by himself!

Day Two!!

Yesterday was Day One!! I didn't get any pictures because he was always going by himself and not telling me he was going. He did have one accident but quickly realized he was peeing and ran to the potty to finish up.

Today is Day Two!! and he decided he wanted to wear his Big Boy Underwear...We had one incident where he went to the potty with his underwear still on so I had to tell him he had to take them off. The next time he told me he needed to go and so I finally got some pictures!!

He was ready! After reading books and watching Elmo's Potty Time he finally got it!

We talked about it alot and finally Monday we ran out of diapers. He definately searched the house for diapers..but he did it! He got 7 stickers yesterday!

And today..first thing he did was go Poo Poo on the Potty!!

He wears Pull Ups to bed..we are no where near close to that but I LOVE not having to change him all throughout the day. We will see how he does in public someday soon.

But as for right now...He is doing GREAT and I couldn't be more Proud!!

I suppose the next birthday to look forward to, or to some fear would be 30. I don't feel old enough to be 25. I still feel like I just turned 21!

And I still can't believe that I will soon be a Mother of 2!!

Its a tradition. Every Oct 1st..Ribs!! She never has to ask but continues to year after year.
One day I think she thinks I will change my mind but her ribs are just so darn good!!

This little guy was quite the conversation for Kurtis and I. Why? I don't know..maybe because my husband just didn't want to spend the money but I convinced him it would be worth it. So we bought the NEW FAN and a REMOTE so we didn't have to stand on the coffee table anymore. I love the new fan!! And I love my remote!!This fan was moved to our bedroom and since Kurtis loved my remote SO MUCH...He bought one for our BEDROOM!!! Yay!! We may be on the lazy side...but its better than standing on our furniture all the time. And I am always turning my fans on and off since I get cold easily. The day also ended by Kurtis buying new light bulbs...yes the stupid energy saving ones. I love the LIGHT!! But I hate that my kitchen does take time to energize up! ha ha...Can you see the light on in the front room? TOTALLY YELLOW!! I can't wait to change them all!! It completely changes the paint and carpet colors. I love the new lighting!!

My mother in law came over the other day with a bunch of seeds and plants!! So for the first time...I have a Garden! Well it's Kyson's Garden but he's nice and shares. Helping plant the carrots

Easter morning was spent at our house with Kyson's Mema and Grandpa. He still kinda calls her Momma which to him is Gandma but he goes back and forth between that and Mema.

We had biskets and gravy for Breakfast then Kyson got to open his Easter basket.

Then it was off to go for the first egg hunt of the day!

Grandma Comes to Hang Out

A couple weeks ago Kyson's Grandma came over to hang out.

We watched a movie, played and planted some seeds in planters pots that she bought for him. Sunflowers and Tomatoes!

Kyson LOVES to garden. He likes dirt and when he can poor water on it he loves it more. It is fun watching the plants grow and see his reaction.

Kyson loves it when he Grandma comes over for a visit. I think he gets bored with me. He asked her to ride on his train with him and like a good Grandma she did.

A couple weeks ago (yes I am really behind) we went to the Phoenix Zoo! It was Kyson's first time during the day. We took him to the Zoolights for Christmas. Anyways, He LOVED it!! No nap all day and he did wonderful! He loves the Turtles and the Monkies the best. Thanks to Aunt Ti Ti and Kunkle for inviting us!! It was a Wonderful Day!!

Over-Used Recipe Swap

Saw a Blog of a bunch of ladies swapping recipes and I thought I would participate. I am always cooking Italian or Mexican food and so here is one of the many recipes I have inherited from my momma.

Chicken Enchaladas

1 Can Cream of Chicken Soup

1/2 cup Sour Cream

1 Can Diced Chicken

2 tbls Hot Sauce

Mix together

Rip about 20 Yellow Corn Tortillas. Depending on how Dry or how Wet you want it. Add more if you want it more dry. Mix them in with the wet mixture and then place in a glass pan. Top with Cheese and Cover with tin foil.

Bake in the Oven for 45mins at 375.

Put Broil on to cook the top once done.

We Finally Meet

Over three years ago I started chatting online with a group of girls. We all became super close having lost babies or just trying to conceive for the first time. Back in January I had the great opportunity to meet two of the ladies from the group. Melissa and Stefania. Plus their gorgeous little girls McKenna and Gina. This is us at BJ's for lunch. Melissa actually lives in Phoenix but we never had the guts to meet up. Stef flew in all the way from New York! If it is possible we hope to go up there this summer and see where she is from. We had such an amazing time hanging out and the kids LOVED eachother. Kyson asks for Gina all the time. He definately has his first crush I think. I had to laugh at her..she got SOO EXCITED because of a cactus!! lol

The things we take for granted... Best buds!!

Of course we took them to Mattas!

On their last night here we made a bonfire in our backyard and cooked Smore's!!

No pictures for me today..I know I am bad. We choose to video tape it this year and well I can never upload the videos. . .

We did do our traditional Valentine Man for Kyson. We got a kick out of watching him go for that box. Our thing is that you have Dad ring the doorbell and the kiddos all run to the door. Well when they go for the box . . .It moves!! Everytime Kyson went to grab it Kurt tugged on the string and he just stood straight up and looked at me. He didn't know what to think of it. But he eventually got the box and alll the goodies inside.

Kyson's Grandma and Grandpa Hahn spent the morning with us. As well as his Uncle Buggy and Auntie Sessy. (Gregory and Chelsea) Kunkle and Ti Ti came a bit later. He sure was spoiled that day. Tons of goodies and some toys. Grandma got him a Buzz lightyear gun. She thought the balls would be soft...not so much. We all had a ball throwing war in the front room. Some walking away with welts. ha ha. But Kyson loves it. Him and his daddy target practice with it. And Kyson is pretty good! You just have to help him pull the trigger. He also got a bucket of army men to shoot up. Kunkle and Ti Ti got him his first Mr. Potatoe head which he loves because he thinks it looks like the one from Toy Story.

Mom and dad got him a new outfit and shoes...plus some candy.

Mummo and Pappa also did the Valentines man and I believe Caden caught the box this year. Mummo kept it simple since she has 15 grandkids..Chocolate and fruit snacks for all and a shirt for the youngest ones.

I myself was spoiled with a Pandora bracelet that Kurtis designed for me. And an evening out to The Keg. YUM!! After dinner it was homeward bound since Kyson spiked a fever at his grandmas. His 2 year molars. To my surprise..I got a HUGE chocolate chip cookie and a bottle of martinellis waiting for me when I got home. Thank you so much babe!! It was another amazing Valentines. What do you get a guy for Valentines? I never know..so Kurtis got family pictures framed for his office, candy, a shirt and a new cd.

Not really but last night I tried something NEW and something HEALTHY for dinner!
I don't really know what to call them other than..Heathly Burgers.

I was so nervous that I told Kurtis..if they are nasty we have Burritos in the freezer. But to my surprise Heathly was Tasty!! Kurtis ate TWO! :0)

1lb Ground Turkey
1/2 cup Celerey
1/2 cup Green Onion
1 tsp Seseame Seed Oil
2 tsp Soy Sauce
1 tsp Minced Garlic
1 tsp Pepper
Mix together and make a patty. So they don't Puff Up put an INdent in the center.

Put 2 tbsp Crisco Oil in a Pan and Fry Away!!

Don't forget Refrigerator Biskets for the Buns!!

Spicy Fry Sauce
1/4 cup Mayo
1/4 Cup Ketchup
1/8 tsp Cayenne Pepper
1/4 tsp Onion Powder
1/8 Tsp Pepper
1/8 tsp Salt

He is talking SO MUCH! Making 2-3 word sentences and pretty much copying anything Kurtis and I say. He counts to Three!! But it takes some coaching. The list of words he says would take a long time and some thinking so I will just say some of my favorites.

He has put his shoes on ALL BY HIMSELF twice. :0)

Still no interest in the potty. He likes to sit on it only if you keep his pants on. Nice right??

He is also still in his Crib and no plans in the near future to move him. He is quite content in there. I am honestly VERY scared to start potty training and moving him into a big boy bed. That is one milestone mom is NOT excited about! I know I should be about diapers..but I'm not. Hard to explain.

We had a GREAT time at my parents cabin. We watched A Little Princess...since I forgot to make sure the DVD was in the case we didn't get to watch Hancock that night..sorry boys! That was the only boy flick I brought. ha ha Not planned I promise!! Anyways we watched that until 11:58pm and then rang in the New Year with some Martinellis Apple Cider. YUM!

We also got to go and see Kurtis' Dad and Kriquette. They made us a yummy breakfast!

We had a great time at Eric and Tenay's house for Christmas Eve. They made a YUMMY Ham and provided some great entertainment. The kids plus adults all had to decorate cookies for Santa. You had to decorate ONE. Then this year they did a contest.

Christmas Celebrated Early

Kurtis and I will continue to switch off years with Family until we have too many kids to move and to many presents as well. So this year Christmas was spent with my parents. For family night the week before we all got together at Kurtis' dads house and boy was Kyson SPOILED!! :0) He is definately loved. We are so greatful for our family and all that they do for us. This is just a few pictures from that night. We were to busy helping Kyson so we didn't get many but we have the before shot...enjoy!

No not all of them were for Kyson but pretty close! We got to open a few. I got a Cricut!! We were also given a beautiful frame with pictures of Kurtis, Kyson and I with a poem about being Parents. Kurtis got some cologne and as a family we got a Bose Stereo system for our Ipod. So awesome!!

He had a ton of fun but wanted to play with each gift after he opened it so it took a lot of time. He definately recognized when he was getting clothes and was ready to move on.

We received a notice in the mail from the HOA saying that we not only have to fix a sink whole in our front yard within the next 7 days but we also have to landscape in the next 90 or so. So my Wonderful Father In Law came over this morning and filled in ALL our sink wholes!!
